What Will I Wear?

August 5, 2008 |

Posted by Ronda

While I was manning the Custer Celebration booth at the Monroe County Fair, many residents expressed an interest in dressing in period clothing for the upcoming events.

I promised to post some resources, so here‘s the first one:

The Costumer’s Manifesto

The Costumer’s Manifesto has info on fashions throughout history. There are also links to sites that sell period clothing and/or patterns. Have fun!

What will I wear? Can’t decide that until I figure out whom I’m going to be? No running up to the mall at the last minute though for this event.

    I came across this site.

    Hey Ronda!

I read somewhere on here that there will be contra dance demonstrations… I think this would be a really fun interactive activity. My kids and I did this once through the DNR Explorer program at Sterling State Park. It was so much fun and we still practice it once in a while.

    :)

    Karin,

I’m making it easy on myself and just being me! :)

    Hi Em,

The dancing lessons will be at St. Mary’s park on October 11th. Definitely bring the kids!
