FIREWORKS CELEBRATIONS
Locally:
–Freedom Celebration in Luna Pier will be held Saturday at Memorial Park. A citywide garage sale will be held all day, and food vendors will be set up at the park. Fireworks at dusk.
–10th annual River Raisin Independence Festival (formerly Liberte Lights Up Monroe Festival) will be held from 3 to 11 p.m. Monday at Loranger Square, Washington and E. First Sts. In Monroe. They’ll have a Big Band Street Dance and Laser Light Show. On Tuesday, it will be held from noon to 11 p.m. at Sterling State Park. Live entertainment and fireworks.
Regionally:
–Fireworks at Carr Park, 600 W. Main St., Manchester, will be held Tuesday at dusk. For more information, call (734) 428-8574.
–Fourth of July Fireworks will be held at sunset Tuesday at Centennial Terrace, Sylvania, Ohio.
–Community Picnic & Fireworks show will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Uptown Maumee Ohio.
–Pharm Lights the Night Fireworks, featuring the Nu-Tones benefiting the Toledo Zoo, will be held from 1 to 10:30 p.m. July 4 at Promenade Park, Toledo.
–“independence at the Hangar” is a concert to be held at 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland Troy Airport Hangar, 2670 Industrial Row Dr. Drink proceeds will benefit the Michael J. George Charity.
DJ’s, Captn20, Matt A., Mike Anthony, Prevu and TJ are scheduled to perform. Discounted tickets of $40 can be purchased in advance at www.neptix.com.

TELEVISION
–Yet another celebrity reality show is starting up. But this one could be very entertaining because it stars crazy (and sometimes drunk) Paula Abdul.
The American Idol and former pop singer will star in her own show called “Hey Paula!” on Bravo. It begins at 10 p.m. tonight.
–Fans of the Fox TV show “Drive” will have a chance to see unaired episodes. Fox pulled the show off the air after only two weeks and four episodes due to low ratings. However, Fox announced that Drive will return to prime time, but only for a one-time event. It will run the unaired fifth and sixth episodes at 8 p.m. July 4.
LOCAL EVENTS
–Detroit Bass Society performs tonight at St. Mary’s Park, Monroe. It’s held from 7 to 9 p.m.
–River Raisin Jazz Series continues tonight in downtown Monroe. Jazz performances will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. tonight at the following locations: 129 Lounge, Café Classics, Jefana’s on Front, McGeady’s Town Pub, Monroe Street Grill, and Rendezvous.
–“The Glamour Tour,” presented by Foxxy Photography Studios, will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Monroe Council 1266, Knights of Columbus hall, 202 W. Front St. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $10.

–On July 4, a centennial celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Temperance, will be held. Festivities begin with a noon Mass celebrated by Bishop Daniel C. Flores of the Archdiocese of Detroit and the Rev. Brian Hurley, pastor. Immediately following Mass, a procession with the statue of St. Anthony of Padua will be held. A dinner will be served in Kenna Hall, including games and entertainment. The church is located at 4605 St. Anthony Rd., Temperance.
REGIONAL EVENTS
–Easter Seals “Walk With Me” event includes participants following a course through the Toledo Zoo, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Registration will be in the Anthony Wayne Trail parking lot and lunch will be at Walbridge Park on Broadway St., across from the zoo. For more information, call Easter Seals at (419) 241-2600.
–The “Stars and Stripes Festival” will be held Friday through Sunday in downtown Mount Clemens. Family events, 100-plus art displays and a full carnival will be on hand.
The band “Send More Cops” featuring Monroe’s Gunner Ross will perform at 6:15 p.m. Friday on the main stage.
–17th annual Ann Arbor Fourth of July parade begins at 10 a.m. July 4 at the corner of State St. and E. William St., Ann Arbor. This year’s theme is “America the Beautiful, Ann Arbor the Beautiful.” For more information, call (734) 709-6080 or email parade@ajaycees.org.
–Rally by the River continues Friday night at Promenade Park in Toledo. It’s from 6 to 10 p.m. and located on the west bank of the downtown riverfront. Cost is $5 a ticket. Kids 12 and younger get in free with a paid adult. To buy a ticket, call (419) 249-4090.
–35th annual Westland Summer Festival begins today through July 4 in Westland. It’s a family oriented festival that holds a city parade on Friday and ends with fireworks on July 4. Carnival rides, games, petting farm, large arts and crafts show, food concession and nightly entertainment.
–16th annual Camaro Superfest 2007 will be held Friday through Sunday at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti. For more information, visit www.camarosuperfest.com.
