–Brad Pitt is co-starring with Mark Wahlberg in “The Fighter.” It’s about a Boston boxer named “Irish” Mickey Ward and his path in becoming a world lightweight champion. Wahlberg will play Ward, and Pitt will play his half-brother Dicky Eklund.
Speaking of Brad, he also is starring alongside Edward Norton in “State of Play.” Jason Bateman was recently added to the film’s list of actors. Norton plays a congressman threatened by an investigation into the death of his mistress. Brad plays a journalist who investigates the murder.
Brad has been a busy man. You’ll soon see him in “Assassination of Jesse James…” and he recently wrapped up filming on “Benjamin Button.” He also will be starring in a Coen Brothers movie “Burn After Reading” with his buddy George Clooney.
–Clint Eastwood is considering the director’s role for an upcoming Nelson Mandela movie called “The Human Factor.” Morgan Freeman is playing Mandela. The movie is about how the 1995 Rugby World Cup helped heal post-apartheid race relations in South Africa.
–Sally Field will play Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Speilberg’s movie “Lincoln.” Liam Neeson will play Abe Lincoln. The movie will focus on the president’s role in leading the North in the Civil War.
–Jennifer Aniston will star in a drama called “Traveling.” She’ll play a floral designer working in Seattle, where she meets a self-help guru. She also has a small role in “She’s Just Not That Into You” and also will be in “Management” with Steve Zahn. Jennifer is also set to star in “Marley & Me” with Owen Wilson, but filming has been postponed until at least spring due to Owen’s recovery from a suicide attempt.
–Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac are teaming up for a comedy called “Soul Men.” The two actors will play estranged soul singers who reunited for a concert rout.
–Joe Nasser, the executive producer behind the Anna Nicole Smith movie, says he’s in pre-production on a film called “Hollywood Brats.” It will be based on the real-life crime blotter events in the lives of young celebrities, such as Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, and Britney. It’s not yet cast but is set to begin filming on Oct. 30.
