 LOCAL EVENTS 

Watch professional anglers fish for walleye in Lake Erie! Cabela’s will host the MWC World Walleye Championship Pro-Am Tournament from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. Cabela’s is located in Dundee.  

 –Custer Week in Monroe will be held from Saturday through Oct. 7. Go to www.georgecuster.com for event details. 

 –The 52nd annual Fall AKC Sanctioned All-Breed Dog Show will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

 –Medilodge of Monroe is hosting its 2nd annual Crafts and Senior Expo Connection from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Medilodge,  481 Village Green Lane.

–A Civil War encampment will be held Saturday and Sunday at Navarre-Anderson Trading Post Complex, 3775 N. Custer Rd.

 –A free car seat safety check will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Harwood Used Cars, 6095 N. Monroe St. No appointments are necessary.    REGIONAL EVENTS 

–“Zoo Brew Fest” is a beer tasting event to be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and a cash bar from 9 to 11 p.m. Sample all kinds of beers, from pilsners to pale ales. Call (419) 385-5721, ext. 3092, to reserve your spot at the Toledo Zoo, 2700 Broadway Ave.

 –Full contact armored jousting is just some of the events to take place this weekend at the Michigan Renaissance Festival, Holly. It’s being held from Friday through Sunday. Call (800) 601-4848 for details. 

 –The 8th annual Ann Arbor Oktoberfest will be from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday near the corner of Washington and Main Sts. in Ann Arbor. Beer, food, dancing, music and more will be held under a large tent.  

 –Saline is holding the “Harvest of the Arts Festival” on Saturday. It includes an art show, live entertainment, historical tours of Saline, and more. It’s from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 141 E. Michigan Ave., Saline. 

  –The annual Antique Truck Show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Park, located at Huron and Cross Sts. in

Ypsilanti.  –Autism Speaks of

Southeast Michigan is holding a “fundraiser walk” on Sunday at the Detroit Zoo, 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd., Royal Oak. Visit www.autismwalk.org/goto/bedfordbuddies
