Halo 3 breaking records
Xbox 360’s “Halo 3” is huge! It’s first-day sales tallied $170 million in the U.S. alone. It became the most successful game debut in history.
To compare, it topped the opening of the Spiderman 3 movie in May, where it made $151 million. Keep in mind, however, that each game costs $60 compared to a $10 movie ticket. But, I think you get the point. It’s estimated that 2.5 million copies were sold on the first day. Microsoft, however, did not offer an exact number of units sold. They did mention, however, that 1 million gamers played the game online, marking the most activity ever on the Xbox Live gaming network.
