Friday, May 30th, 2008

A bronze Fonz statue will be dedicated this summer in Milwauke in honor of the coolest character on TV.

The “Happy Days” character, played by Henry Winkler, will be dedicated during a ceremony on Aug. 19 in Milwaukee. The statue will be located at the River Walk, located just south of Wells Street on the eastside.

Winkler and the show’s stars are scheduled to make an appearance and sign autographs. Besides Winkler, other stars planning to attend are Marion Ross (Mrs. Cunningham), Tom Bosley (Mr. Cunningham), Erin Moran (Joanie), Don Most (Ralph Malph) and Anson Williams (Potsie).

Stars of the Happy Days spinoff, Laverne & Shirley, also plan on attending. Penny Marshall (Laverne) and Cindy Williams (Shirley) will be there along with the show’s creator, Garry Marshall.

The daylong celebration will conclude with the cast being honored at a pre-game ceremony at Miller Park, prior to the Brewers-Astros game. The cast will throw out the first pitch, while ”Potsie” will sing the National Anthem.

A commemorative bronze the Fonz baseball card will be given to every fan at the game.

Love’s album still in the works

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

Courtney Love is refuting reports that she scrapped work on her next studio album.

Instead, Love says the album will be available this summer. She said no “scrapping” is going on, only a few retakes since some recordings were leaked online.

In her MySpace blog, Love writes:

“Don’t assume you know any songs on this album. Some may sound somewhat familiar or even have the same titles and arrangements. A few are just precious diamonds I wouldn’t touch, but there’s TONS of NEW ones which you haven’t a clue about.”
