Tons of celebrities are coming together Friday night to “Stand Up to Cancer.”
The rally to join the cancer fight will air at 8 p.m. Friday on ABC, CBS and NBC for one hour of simultaneous, commercial-free fundraising.
Just some of the stars include Jennifer Garner, Jack Black, Jessica Alba, David Spade, Mandy Moore, Halle Berry, Kate Bosworth, Ellen DeGeneres, Tony Hawk and many more.

–Ricky Schroder will direct a Sci Fi Channel movie called “Hellhounds.” Shooting begins Sunday in Romania, and is expected to air early next year.
–Oprah will appear on 30 Rock. It’s tentatively set for Nov. 6.
–Jennifer Aniston will make a guest appearance on NBC’s 30 Rock. There are no details on who she will be playing.
–Rumer Willis will make a guest appearance on Lifetime’s Army Wives. She will play the wife of a soldier who has been injured in Iraq. It will air Oct. 12.

Over the weekend, the Dark Knight became the second-highest grossing film of all-time.
It earned another $11 million over the holiday weekend, raising its domestic total to $502.4 million. It hit the mark in just over six weeks - half the time it took Titanic.
Titanic remains No. 1 on the domestic charts with $600.8 million.
Tropic Thunder took the top spot over the holiday weekend with $14.3 million, followed by Babylon A.D. with $12 million.

–Michelle Rodriguez is returning to ”Lost” this season for one episode. It most likely will be the second episode of the season, but no other details were given.
–Michael Phelps will kick off the 34th season of Saturday Night Live on Sept. 13. Musical guest will be Lil Wayne. It will be the first of four lives shows in a row. SNL also will be doing a “Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday” for three live primetime half-hours beginning at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9. The shows will be anchored by the show’s signature “Weekend Update.”
–TV Land will start airing “Scrubs” soon. A 7-hour marathon runs on Labor Day.
–The closing ceremony of the Olympics drew 26.3 million viewers - the highest ratings since Montreal in 1976. Overall, the games were the most viewed in TV history.

American Idol has added a fourth judge for its eighth season, which begins in January. Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi is joining the show as a judge.

For the second consecutive week, “Tropic Thunder” is tops at the box office.
It hauled in $16.1 million, narrowly beating “The House Bunny” by only $1 million. Thunder’s 12-day total now stands at $65.7 million.
“The House Bunny” debuted in second with $15.1 million. It stars Anna Faris as an ostracized playboy bunny who becomes den mother to a sorority of campus misfits.
Rainn Wilson should stick to TV. His music comedy “The Rocker” failed to make the top 10 in its debut. It took in $2.8 million to finish at No. 12. Ice Cube didn’t do much better. “The Longshots” opened at No. 8 with $4.3 million.
The Dark Knight continues its climb in box office history. After making another $10.3 million this weekend, it’s grand total now stands at $489.2 million.

–Sci Fi Channel will air a Battlestar Galactica two-hour special event after the series finale in 2009. The final 10 episodes of the show begin airing in 2009.
–In anticipation of 90210 returning to TV, SOAPnet will air a 24-hour marathon of the original drama “Beverly Hills 90210″ on Labor Day. It starts at midnight Sept. 1 and runs the entire day.
–Christopher Knight will host the game show “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays.” It debuts Sept. 22.
–CBS announced that the start of its new and returning series debut Sept. 22, the official start of the 2008-09 season. The only exception will be “Survivor: Gabon” which debuts Sept. 18.

For a fourth straight week, The Dark Knight sits atop the box office.
It took in $26 million, beating the stoner comedy “Pineapple Express” by about $4 million.
The Batman sequel is now No. 3 on the all-time domestic box office charts with $441.5 million, behind only Titanic and the original Star Wars.
The last movie to remain No. 1 for four consecutive weeks was “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King” in late 2003 and 2004.
Since opening Wednesday, Pineapple Express has taken in $40.5 million. The comedy stars Seth Rogen as a pot smoker on the run from crooks after he witnesses a murder along with his drug dealer, played by James Franco.
