Chihuahua rules box office

“Beverly Hills Chihuahua” was No. 1 at the box office this weekend.

The comedy is about a spoiled dog lost in Mexico, featuring the a talking Chihuahua with Drew Barrymore’s voice. It hauled in $29 million.

Last week’s No. 1, “Eagle Eye,” fell to No. 2 with $17.7 million.

The debut of “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” opened at a mildly successful $12 million. It stars Michael Cera and Kat Dennings as teens who fall for each other on a wild night in New York City.
