‘Wheel’ celebrating 5,000 shows
Wow, do I feel old. Wheel of Fortune — the show that began when I was a kid, is hitting a major milestone of 5,000 episodes on Friday.
After 26 years, the game show is one of the most successful syndicated programs in TV history. It has more than 34 million viewers a week.
It has had more than 15,000 contestants, awarded nearly $200 million in cash and prizes and traveled and taped on location 56 times in front of live audiences.
