-Keanu Reeves will star in “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” There are several versions of this story but plot details of this particular movie are being kept a secret.

-Joan Rivers (who just won Celebrity Apprentice – yeah!!) will star in a new 30-minute series called “How’d You Get So Rich?” It premieres at 10 p.m. Aug. 12 on TV Land.

-Alanis Morissette will appear in at least 7 episodes of Showtime’s “Weeds” this season. She will play a “no-nonsense obstetrician.”

-Sarah Palin has signed with HarperCollins to write her memoirs for publication in 2010. It has not yet been revealed how much she’s getting paid.

-Nicole Kidman has decided not to star in Woody Allen’s next movie, which starts shooting in London this summer. The untitled project co-stars Josh Brolin, Freida Pinto, Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts.

-Fox has picked up a drama based on a CD Comics series called “Human Target.” Mark Valley (Days of Our Lives, Boston Legal, Fringe) will play a freelancer who adopts new identities, becoming a human shield to protect clients.

-Martin Scorsese will direct the biopic “Sinatra.” No word yet on who will play Frank.

-ABC picked up 2 new shows for next fall. A Sci-Fi drama “Flash Forward” is about people blacking out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and sees visions of themselves in the future. The second show, “Modern Family,” is a comedy about 3 families — one traditional, one gay and one led by Ed O’Neill (Married…With Children) who marries a much younger Latina.

-It looks like a live-action adaptation of “American Gladiators” is coming to the big screen. It will be based on the 1988 TV show.

-The Jack White/Alison Mosshart band, “Dead Weather,” has announced tour dates. They will be performing at The Fillmore in Detroit on July 24.
