“Up” tops box office
Monday, June 1st, 2009Pixar continues to blow the competition out of the water.
This time, it was “Up” that debuted at $68.2 million for the weekend. In comparison, it took last weekend’s winner, “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” four days to gross $70 million.
‘Night at the Museum’ was runner-up this weekend with $25.5 million, bringing its total earnings to $105.2 million in two weeks.
The horror flick “Drag Me To Hell” opened in third place with $16.6 million.
Next weekend will pit Will Ferrell’s action comedy ”Land of the Lost” against the comedy “The Hangover.”
