Latest Pop Culture News

-Emilie de Ravin (Claire) is returning to “Lost” as a full-time series regular for the show’s final season.

-Kirsten Dunst is on board for “Spider-Man 4,” slated for a May 6, 2011 release.

-TBS is in talks to pick up a 13-episdoe season of “My Name is Earl” after NBC axed the show. Talks for new episodes are in the preliminary stages so keep your fingers crossed!

-Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are in negotiations to co-star in “The A-Team” movie. Neeson would play Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, while Cooper would play Lt. Templeton “Faceman” Peck. Production begins in August for the June 11, 2010 release.

-Katee Sackhoff has joined the “24″ cast. She will play Dana Walsh, an expert data analyst at CTU with a secret past who is involved with CTU agent Davis Cole (Freddie Prinze Jr.). She’s best known for her role as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on Battlestar Galactica.

-VH1’s “Best Week Ever” is on a ‘production hiatus’ until 2010. No surprise here. They ruined the show when they got rid of the comics and only featured Paul Thompkin. He’s awful!!

-Showtime ordered 12 episodes for Season 2 of “Nurse Jackie” – wow, that was fast! The show starring Edie Falco is the cable channel’s best debut of an original series.

-Allison Iraheta has signed with 19 Recordings – the same record label as Kris Allen. The 17-year-old rocker came in fourth place in this past season’s American Idol.

-Joy Behar is bumping Lou Dobbs from his repeat slot on HLN (CNN Headline News) to host a 9 p.m. talk show. She will continue to co-host “The View” while doing the prime time show, which begins in the fall.

-I guess ABC can’t get enough dancing on the air. It picked up five episodes of “Let’s Dance” to air during the holidays as a bridge between cycles of “Dancing with the Stars.” It will center on celebrities learning dance moves, but will take on a more comedic approach. They will re-enact famous dance routines, such as Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in “Dirty Dancing.”

-The third season premiere of “Mad Men” will be at 10 p.m. Aug. 16 on AMC with limited commercial interruptions. In case you missed last season, AMC will run a marathon of Season Two on Aug. 10.
