-Madonna is coming out with a greatest hits album, “Celebration,” on Sept. 29. It will include two new songs. One of them will hit radio airwaves on Aug. 3.

-Leonardo DiCaprio’s production company and Warner Bros. are moving ahead with a “Twilight Zone” movie based on the TV series that ran for five seasons, starting in 1959.

-Entertainment Weekly explores the 15 mysteries “Lost” needs to solve before the end of the series.

-Nicholas Cage is in talks to play the gangster villain in “The Green Hornet.” Cameron Diaz also is negotiating to play a reporter and love interest in the movie. The film will be released next summer.

-Syfy announced its fall schedule. Some highlights: New series “Stargate Universe” premieres Oct. 2 starring Lou Diamond Phillips; returning series “Destination Truth” premieres Sept. 9; Sanctuary’s second season debuts Oct. 9; returning series with new episodes include “Scare Tactics” on Oct. 6, “Ghost Hunters” in the fall on Wednesdays, and “Warehouse 13″ on Tuesdays.

-Weezer is coming out with a new album and are reissuing their classic 1996 album “Pinkerton.” Release dates for both are yet to be determined.

-Sony Pictures Entertainment is close to a deal to make a Michael Jackson feature film from the 80 hours of rehearsal footage filmed for the concerts he was to perform in London before he died.

-Remember the band “Living Color?” They will be releasing a new album for the first timee in nearly six years called “the Chair in the Doorway.” It will be released Sept. 15. (They sang “Cult of Personality” in the late 80’s).

-Hong Kong Phooey, the 1970’s cartoon, is coming to the big screen. It will be a live-action/animated version of the TV series about a police station janitor who becomes a dog with mystical powers, including the ability to do kung fu.

-A third installment of “Bridget Jones” is in the works. The movie, still untitled, won’t go into production until the end of next year. Renee Zellweger will reprise her role as a British publishing executive struggling to find love.

-Drew Barrymore directed a new roller-derby movie called “Whip It” starring Ellen Page. Check it out here.

-John Goodman will star in a new Fox comedy called “The Station.” It’s about a group of lackluster CIA operatives at a covert South American post, where they’re charged with installing a new dictator.

-Russell Brand will once again host the MTV Video Music awards. It airs at 9 p.m. Sept. 13. Among the performers will be Taylor Swift and Muse.
