-The ratings for Sunday’s Emmy awards on CBS were much improved. It was up 1 million from last year and had its best numbers since 2006. It drew 13.3 million viewers.
-No surprises on last night’s Dancing with the Stars. Ashley Hamilton and Macy Gray were sent home.
-In case you’ve missed “Mad Men” so far this season, don’t worry. AMC will be re-airing all six Season 3 episodes to date. The marathon starts at 10 a.m. Sunday.
-The second installment of “Ghost Rider” is in the works. It will once again star Nicolas Cage, who played in the 2007 original flick.
-Justin Timberlake will star in “The Social Network” drama about the formation of Facebook. He’ll paly Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president. The movie will focus on the evolution of Facebook, created in 2004.
-Walt Disney’s 3D adventure film “Tron: Legacy” will arrive in theaters on Dec. 17, 2010.
-Lady Gaga and Kanye West are uniting to tour 34 cities, kicking off Nov. 10. They will perform Jan. 14 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
-BIO Channel will debut a new series called “Celebrity Ghost Stories” at 10 p.m. Oct. 3. Celebrities will chronicle their true stories of personal encounters with the paranormal. Some of the many celebrities include Joan Rivers, Tom Arnold, Carrie Fisher, and the late David Carradine.
-Comedians Martin Short and Lily Tomlin have been added to the third season of “Damages,” due out in January.
-LeBron James will play himself in a comedy called “Fantasy Basketball Camp.” Production begins next summer.
-Tori Amos will release a holidy album called “Midwinter Graces” due out Nov. 10.
-Fox has picked up “Glee” for a full season of the musical comedy.
-John Malkovich is joining the cast of “Secretariat,” a drama for Disney. The film is based on the relationship between the racehorse that won the 1973 triple-crown and its owner, played by Diane Lane.
-JJ Abrams is working on a possible comedic medical show for Fox network. The premise hasn’t been revealed.
-Diablo Cody is in negotiations to pick up the rights of the “Sweet Valley High” books for the big screen. The books center on the lives of two teenage girls who live in a fictional town of Sweet Valley, Calif. The series was created by Francine Pascal in the early 1980s.
