The Ann Arbor News has an interesting article about the Argo Park Dam.  Drains in the dam complex need to be cleaned at a cost of $600,000.  This might also require the removal of some vegetation in a quite natural area along the Huron River.  Another option being studied is complete removal of the dam:

“One of the more difficult problems we’re having in Wayne and Monroe counties is we’re seeing them in the Metroparks and outlying suburbs,” state DNR wildlife biologist Kristine Brown told The Flint Journal for a story today. “They’re actually inside of city limits where they can’t be shot by hunters.”
