A2 News on Washtenaw County Parks Millage
The Ann Arbor News has a solid overview of the upcoming Washtenaw County Parks renewal millage, “Proposal A.” Excerpt and link:
Washtenaw County voters will be asked Tuesday to renew “Proposal A,” a millage that would bring in about $3.6 million annually for county parks.
The millage, one of two dedicated taxes that fund the 3,500-acre county park system, pays for park development and land acquisition.
Development activities range from replacing a pool heater to developing new nature trails and nonmotorized trails. A separate millage supports general park operations and expenses like payroll, personnel, fuel and utilities.

Note: The article mentions that this particular park millage has been a more difficult sell in areas of Washtenaw outside the City of Ann Arbor. So I find it interesting that there has been so much recent work completed at a variety of county preserves and parks in the Manchester area. Someone at the county parks knows what they are doing. My guess is that the county completed those projects for maximum positive spin heading into the elections.
