Should Trails Be a Part of Economic Stimulus Package?

Some of the best infrastructure work completed in our nation’s parks happened during the Great Depression as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps.  Many parks still boast rock walls, roads and shelters built within this make-work jobs program.

Todd Scott at m-bike.org argues that trails should be a part of President-elect Barack Obama’s economic stimulus package.  He folds it into the idea that transportation is important for our future.  And “green” transportation is important for building strong communities and combating environmental challenges:
