UM Museum of Art Set to Reopen March 28/29

My first year roommate at U of M liked to smoke pot.  I was a quiet kid from Monroe who went to church.  This meant that I spent pretty much all of my time outside of class in the larger living room that is Ann Arbor.

One of my favorite study spots during that first year was the area just inside the pillars of the UM Museum of Art.  The area had nice lights, but it was sheltered from most of the city’s bustle.  And on the evenings when the museum was open, I could take a break and look at a Picasso or Monet.

I’m not sure that most people realize what a nice mid-sized museum the UM Museum of Art really is.  And it will only get better when the renovated space reopens on March 28th and 29th after a two-year move to temporary facilities.

And the best part?  Museum admission is free.
