Indian Springs Metropark Review: Oakland Press

From Monroe and Lenawee Counties, it’s about an hour’s drive to Oakland County.  But it is worth it.  Glaciation patterns left hills and terrain.  And the fact that Oakland boasts a large and relatively affluent population means that there are lots of large, well-tended parks with hiking trails.  One of these is Indian Springs Metropark.  This Huron-Clinton Metropark boasts a nature center, wide and flat woodchipped trails and a very important marsh area.  Indian Springs also boasts direction connections to Oakland County’s paved network of multi-use trails.  And it is very close to one of my favorite area hikes at Highland State Recreation Area.
