Journey to Spiritual Growth in 2008

December 27th, 2007 Posted in Growth

I’m working on some ideas on how we can most effectively navigate life in such a way that we can grow spiritually.  The process involves five areas in which we need to be proactive in responding to and developing.  You’ll hear more of this from me in the next few weeks.

Here are the five areas (and they’re given in order in which they are to be addressed by each of us):

#1 Meeting Christ (allowing Him to find us, accepting His merciful love and gracious forgiving).

#2 Following Christ (responding to His invitation to live exclusively for Him).

#3 Learning from Christ (developing a hunger to absorb God’s concepts as revealed in His Word, through His creation, and through others who are insightful).

#4 Becoming Like Christ (determining we will exhibit, more and more, Christ’s own character).

#5 Serving with Christ (committing to doing the work Christ puts around us to do, with His help).

I’m curious, which one of these five areas do you think you need to address most in 2008?  Give me some feedback.  Let’s talk!

Happy New Year!

Dave

For 2008, I would like to focus on servicing with Christ. I would like to give more of myself to show others the love of Christ this year. It will take me denying self more and taking up the cross and following the leading and guidance of my heavenly father. My goal is to give more, yet to learn to express my love to God more by sharing him with others through service. I am determine to follow Christ that I may grow stronger in him. God Bless!

    L Massey,

It’s a good reminder to all of us, that we show our love for Christ by serving the others around us He also loves.

    Thanks for writing,
    Dave
