I’m Living in a Barn!

That’s right, I’m spending the next few days with my wife’s family at a bed and breakfast place called “Barn on the Bluff” near Elkader, Iowa.  Yes, it’s an actual barn located in a beautiful, hilly and (right now) snowy countryside.  You can view the “barn” at http://www.barnonthebluff.com/ .  The barn was refurbished from a regular (but badly deteriorated) barn for animals to a great place for people to use as a retreat!  Looking at the “before” and the “during the process” pictures that are on display in a coffee table picture album in the living room of the Barn reminds me of how much work it took to transform this place.

Transformation always takes time and effort, not just for barns but for people too!  I’m enjoying living in this “barn” because of all the work the owners have put into it.  I wonder… do I put forth the kind of effort in being a dwelling place for God so that He can enjoying dwelling within me?
