“What we have here is a lack of communication!” That’s the caption I’d give this photo of mine. I’ve put it on iStockphoto.com where I sell my photography. I thought it symbolic of the break in communication that often happens between us humans. What are some reasons you see for communication breaking down between people? Let’s get some input on the subject.

Risk and trust. To have honest communication about a touchy or sensitive issue, people need to take a risk. When they communicate they could be rejected, hurt or ridiculed. Along with the risk comes trust - and trust can be very difficult to give or/and receive. I think communication breaks down because of a variety of issues, but these two concepts are always involved.
