Erosion is the slow wearing away of soil.  The operative word is “slow” because it rarely is a fast and obvious process.  Spiritual erosion can happen too.  That’s a case where we allow ourselves to drift from God and/or His will for us.  Proper land management can keep erosion from happening (this from an Iowa farm boy).  Proper soul management can do the same for our spiritual condition.  It’s hard to reverse soil erosion.  By the grace of God we can reverse spiritual erosion.

We often are concerned about what happens around us and to us.  It’s also important for us to be concerned about what we’re allowing to happen within us.  The book of Proverbs reminds us, “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” (Proverbs 4:23
