A Church Far from Home

Joe, a friend of mine and a member of the church I serve as pastor, is working at Camp Bastion, a British base in the middle of the desert in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan. This is a picture of the church on the base.
Joe writes that where he’s located isn’t Hell, but that you can see it from there! That makes it a good place to have a cross, don’t you think? The cross of Christ has been raised in countless difficult places throughout the world and throughout history. It’s a reminder that Christ can be found wherever we find ourselves!
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Jesus in Matthew 28:20)
