Whoa Dolly!

Sometimes called a hand truck, these inexpensive dollies are so handy to have around the the house. You can pick them up at Harbor Frieght in a number of locations in the surrounding areas for usually $35.00 or less. I know there is a store in Toledo, Ypsilanti, and I believe in Southgate on Eureka.
When I worked in the retail end of fishing for a few years, three or four times a year, I would see a guy or a couple come in with a long list of items. After a few such encounters, it was easy to spot someone going through an insurance list of items, getting prices for items that had been stolen. Nine times out of ten, they had the boat parked right next to the house, with all their equipment inside the boat. I used to think to myself, ” Why didn’t you just unload the boat when you got home from the trip?”
Well, after carrying all the equipment up from the shop to the front of the house, I began to realize that were was a little work involved. Not that its too much work to get ready or after the trip to haul it all back, but after a hot trip in the sun out on the lake, its not something you will look forward too.
So about a month back, I saw this dolly in the shop, and that goofy light bulb went off. I had seen guys rig these up for fishing on the pier in of all places, Luna Pier. At times, I can be really good at taking something from one application, and utilizing it for another, and this was just too easy!
In the pictures, you can see my tackle bag on the bottom, which forms a good solid base. Next is the cooler with the walleye and perch from yesterday’s trip. On top of that, is the soft sided cooler where I kept the beverages. Then I have a waterproof vinyl bag with my maps, and diving charts, the GPS and camera. The white box is the bait container with the crawlers. That would be Bonnie in the background, she sneaks into a lot of pictures.
All that gear, in one trip. Keeps one hand free to bring up the rods, as well. If you get one, you will find lots of extra uses around the house as well. Loading up returnables, carrying that heavy item out of the trunk of the car or bed of the truck. Just handy to have.
