Your computer cannot help you catch more fish, or can it? There is so much information available on the internet for everything fishing, it gets kind of confusing. How can you store it and organize it where it readily at hand?
Guess the first step would be finding the information. What do you like to fish for? Find a search engine, or use the blank available on your homepage. You know, that page that comes up with you start surfing. lol
Ok, lets look at all the info available for the fish I like to target. Its an example to follow for demonstration purposes.
My favorite fish to target are Northern Pike, Muskie, Walleye and all things ice fishing. I do like to chase some Erie perch later in the year, fool around in the Huron River for steelhead, or during the spring try to get some nice sized crappie in the spring out in Irish Hills.
I have files saved in my “favorites” with the following titles;
Ice Fishing, four total
Walleye, three total
Pike and muskie, one each
Camping, hotels and such
What is in each one, everything I can find and think of that will help me catch more fish. Tackle companies, lake information and maps, forums, rod companies, line and hook companies.
Here is an example from my first “Ice Fishing” folder
www.iceteam.com, www.clamcorp.com , www.vexilar.com , www.northlandtackle.com , www.powerpro.com , www.stcroixrods.com , www.strikemaster.com , www.little-atom.com , www.franksgreatoutdoors.com …etc.
My muskie folder has Ambassadeur reels, Believer Lures, Northland spinners and so on. The pike folder has spoons, spinnerbaits, topwaters and cranks. My walleye folders have Mustand hooks, Do-It molds, jigs, cranks, blades,beads and other components. Local shops like Matthews and Knutsons, anyone that will be able to get things I need to help me catch fish. Some are just pages of items that I am looking to buy down the road, like the Bass Pro XPS keel weights.
Create folders for your desktop too. Without really cluttering the screen up, I have one dedicated to fishing, forums. There is Ice Team, Monroe Blogs, Saginaw Bay, Fishing Minnesota, Ice Shanty, Walleye Central and about a dozen others. Some day, with all the information available, the blogs and forums could put the national magazines the way of the dino’s. Its all out there, and its FREE.
Get it, Grap it, Save it, and make it your own!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck
