FLW Walleye Tour on FSN

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

If its looking like a slow Sunday morning for you,  switch the channel on the TV  from the countless NFL preview shows!  While the guys are actually fishing right now down in Cleveland on Lake Erie for the FLW Walleye Tour Championship,  you can watch the final qualifying event that was held up in Escanaba while I was up there in August.   The city is located on Little Bay de Noc, and served as the launching point for the event.

Ever wonder what it takes to catch a Bay de Noc walleye?  The Pro’s will be fishing both bays (Little and Big), and you can get a glimpse of what its like to go fishing on Lake Michigan for pickerel.  So if you were wondering what it was like out of Monroe on Lake Erie this week for the MWC event,  watch FSN at 11am and get a full hour of insight on the techniques, equipment and strategies it takes to catch a limit.  Not sure about other cable companies, or dish customers, but thats channel 33 for Charter subscribers.

Watching the pups in the shrubs

Time for the beagle update, and I get to mix it in with babysitting with my niece, Helaina.  I am not sure who had more fun last Thursday, the pups, Lani or my dad, the proud Grandpa.  Where  Belle and Guage went, Lani’s head would swivel and follow their paths.  When they tackled each other, her arm and legs would wave and kick.

time out

She was just tickeled pink watching the pups run in and out of the bushes.

Bonnie on the porch

Bonnie stayed a safe distance from the lil’ ones, but never far from the babe.

Meet and greet

She was just giggling anytime the pups came up for a closer inspection.

There they are

Whenever they would stop, she kept looking right at them, just transfixed.

Jungle beagle

Belle holding tight in the pakisandria, not sure on the spelling here, its that plant that folks use for ground cover,  supposed to keep mosquitos away too.  However you spell it, its a pup magnet.  It always makes me think of a Snoopy cartoon,  where the mightly lion stalks its prey, inch by inch, step by step…etc.

Tolerating Guage

Bonnie is tolerating the pups much better in their fourth week together.  Not so much of the bark and swivel away.  She actually lets Guage get in her face a little here.

da princess

Last shot, Belle looking back at the camera.  Guage is still twice her size,  and has the classic beagle look, but have to admit, Belle is all over that whole cute thing.  Both their heads are starting to get more tan in them, though Guage’s is more pronounced.  Hopefully Belle doesn’t lose that whole bandit look she has going around her eyes.
