A while back I told you the story about Shiloh saving my niece from an attack from a St. Bernard near my brother’s home in Monroe. She was put down today, due to kidney failure.
Shiloh was nicknamed “Snake” by mom several years ago, because she was “snakey” as she put it. Whenever you turned around she had snaked off somewhere, just out of sight. It wouldn’t take long to find her, if she wasn’t baying on a trail, she had her nose to the ground sniffing like a hoover vacuum cleaner. I mean you could hear this hound from yards away pulling up a scent. Looking back, it reminds me of the old cartoons of the hounds on the track of bugs bunny. Not sure what all she sucked up over the years, but it wasn’t unusual to see parts of leaves or pine needles sticking out.
A young 8 years to have passed away way too soon.
