While the ground is still frozen what can you do?
Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008Another frosty morning, but the good news is that there is no sign of the rain they were talking about, yet. What a job to have, where you can be wrong 70% of the time, and still get a paycheck! Well there are still things to do before breaking out the boats on a warmer day.
I had the last of the reels re-spooled the other day, then went through each one and greased them up. Easy rule to remember involving reels, spinning reels just get grease, and baitcasters that actually call for oil, get very little.
There can be nothing worse than getting oil into the area where the drag is located on a baitcaster. The line keeps going, and you keep reeling, recipe’ for disaster. If you do manage to get the oil in the wrong spot, its a long tedious thing to get it fixed too. Strip the reel, clean the reel, dry the reel, and then TRY to put it all together without any left over parts.
