In a secluded area somewhere in Monroe County is the location of “da Man Cave”. Aka, my fishing workshop. Where I can work all day, and step down for something to eat that’s either grilled, fried or smoked and keg beer flows freely.
Its a man’s get-a-way from the honey-do list, screeching ex’s and American Idol![]()
Recently, I had all the locks and deadbolts done by George’s Locks & Rekeys (734.493.2704) out of New Boston. Came in, got the job done right, and with some things l added like security lights, alarm system, semi-auto weapons, vicious dogs and rapid cats, this place is locked up tighter than a doughnut shop filled with cops![]()
Welcome to the cave:![]()

This is my work station where I build my rigs and harnesses:
Like the new shelves?

Tackle for walleye (to the left) and pike and muskie to the right:![]()

I just finished installing the shelves and cupboards:
These are the ice fishing panfish lures and cases.
Its got rod racks on the walls, but I need to make a few more like the one on wheels. More rods coming now, maybe some mini-racks for the ice rods. For now the buckets of rods work, but not a permanent solution by any means.![]()

rod rack

There is plenty of storage overhead as well. Rod tubes, nets, jig racks, hand auger and spud. Remember the water noodles for securing your crawler harnesses? Well if you find them at a good price, buy lots of them!

Those green things? They are Otter Rattle Reels, which work nice in the CLAM 5600.

Then you have stuffed stored in boxes, in buckets like the tip-ups and on the wall too.![]()

Got my ice gear stored above and below some horses![]()

Entertainment center, too
and some more stuff!

I even decorated, kinda…and don’t laugh (too hard) at the Lions plaque, I have had it since I was a kid.![]()

Don’t ya just love the firetiger pattern on that poodle? Muskies will bite anything once!
Well that’s it, the cave! With the new pic uploading deal it was a work in progress over the last couple of weeks. Get frustrated, take a break, work at it, then take a break.

Wow awesome – what would you charge to make me something like that – LOL
ummm can’t remember, but can get you in touch with the builder! Mark Barker out of Maybee is one of the best in the area, and usually beats the competition’s prices!
I thought mine was nice with just a few rod holders. Nice Job!!
