Lani’s Halloween Pics

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I have been slacking lately, and through several emails during the last few weeks I have been reminded to post some pics of the pups and Lani my niece and goddaughter.  Still working on the pups, but I can take care of Lani today.  She came and visited Friday before heading back home to Monroe to go trick or treating.  She loves to explore wherever she goes, so much so when they were going around the block in town, she tended to stay longer at each house.  What happend was some folks would invite them in for pictures, and being her inquisitive self, she started to check everything out.

Next year, it looks like Uncle Chuck will have to teach her the concept of shock and awe in relation to filling up her jack o’lantern as fast as she can!

In these pics, she comes in the door and stops for a pic just before trying to wrap her arms around Bonnie Jean.  Then for some reason she loves the windows and the knob used for opening them.  Later she opens the cabinets and finds a pair of mom’s candlesticks to play with.  She also knows how to shut the cabinets, or slam them in reality.  Kid’s got some arms under that dalmation costume.

Don’t Put the Boats Away Yet: Panifish Bonanza

Spent a great day on Saturday fishing and scouting for the winter ice season. Moved around a lake out in Irish Hills checking spots, fishing a few, and putting over 70 waypoints on my GPS. Its all about getting ready for the ice season and checking out new lakes.

Yesterday’s destination was out in Irish Hills, looking for bluegill and crappie, and finding a few bonus walleye spots. Taking the boat roughly faster than idle the lake offered many, MANY spots to check out this winter. Its all about the process of elemination.

I will take the same spots, and if they prove unproductive, I will erase them off the memory as I check them out once the ice forms. You would think out of 70+ there will be some good spots to go to. Thats the great thing about ice fishing, you see, you go, or you stay on top of fish.

I kept just enough for dinner last night, and even though because of the cold weather it took the oil a bit longer to come up to temperature (350′)….it was well worth the wait. We watched the Pistons beat up on the Bullets…I mean the Wizards. Showing my age again!
