Walleye in @ Luna Pier

The walleye are coming, the walleye are coming…….too late, they’re in at the Pier already.

While I have been hitting the lake, and taking advantage of this break in the weather, the walleye have been at night out in front of the Luna Pier.

What works out there is fairly simple, and a long net is a must, unless you feel like wading. Floating Rapalas, Jointed Raps, Shallow Rattlin’ Rogues and Jointed Bombers rule the tackle selection. Deep diving lures are out, too many rocks for ticking the bottom. Later in the week as the weather turns, a thermos of coffee is a good choice to take along as well.

Be a pain in the #$%&, but just when you have to be

If you remember back a month or so ago, I told you about my Unc’s problem with a big company remembering their company’s LIFETIME GUARNTEE on a rod that snapped on him while fishing. This is all back in the day, before they had went public on the stock market and rewrote their warranty program. After three hours on the phone, they had told him “the rod was in the mail”.

Three weeks later, still no rod. Unc being the guy that he is, and with some insider knowledge called back to find out the problem with the latest promise made by this company. Lo and behold, the customer service manager that he had delt with, was recently fired as part of recent cuts. Long story short he had to go through the whole bs process again.

He had to go, and start the long story all over again with a new person. He got the same run around, and some new warranty claims about three years, which the company had never offered in the first place. Again, he pervailed and got his rod in the mail! FINALLY
