Mary spotted this girl this morning in the front yard of the residence at the corner of LaPlaisance and Dunbar Roads in Monroe. The bird was just wandering around, rooting for things to eat. Too bad Thanksgiving’s so far off!

This turkey was standing in the same spot the other day as I sat through a train. I called home and my SO said he saw a group of these turkeys there in the past while taking the kids to school. I didn’t even think to get a picture. I’ll bet they will disappear before turkey season.

They must live in one of those fields across one of those two roads, then. A perfect place, too … I imagine firearms aren’t allowed in there. I’m guessing if this girl is as big as she is, the Tom of the neighborhood must be huge!
