Planning … for Summer?

In late December my two oldest boys made their way up to Flint to the Tall Pine Council offices of the Boy Scouts of America. There they had interviews for the upcoming season at Camp Tapico, the Boy Scout camp the Tall Pine Council operates near Grayling that hosts Scouts from all over the lower peninsula. For the second year in a row, Aaron will be on-staff for the entire summer, having spent a couple weeks there in 2005 as a Counselor-In-Training. And this year, Adam gets to start that same process as a Counselor-In-Training for two weeks in the upcoming summer.
What else does this mean? It means they’ve hired a cook as well for this summer. This cook, whoever it may be, is likely already planning for nine weeks of meals for the staff. If they’re not, they may very well end up gone as the first cook was this past summer.
As you can see from these pics, the kitchen at Camp Tapico is rather small:
