Savannah Meade is a local Author who uncovered a story about a woman who fought and died during the Civil War at Pickett’s Charge. Her story is featured in Savannah’s book called “And She Fought At Gettysburg”.
The Snyder family story continues soon in “Only Ghosts Came Home” a sequel to “And She Fought At Gettysburg”. Savannah is a Certified Secondary Teacher with a Major in English and History. She frequents historical places such as Gettysburg, Antietam, Harpers Ferry, Monocacy, just to name a few, every year for book signings, research trips and she is available for public speeches. Our nation’s history is important for us to understand. Decades and centuries later we still have questions that can be answered only by comparing the various first hand accounts and utilizing new technologies to prove their accuracy. We need to understand our history and embrace its importance in our growth as a nation. |

I found your blog via Google while searching for boat insurance quotes and your post regarding About A Glimpse at History looks very interesting to me. I could not believe the amount of quality material on this site. The site is extremely eyecatching and pulls the reader straight it, the articles are great quality and are very professionally written. I have seen too many of these sites where it looks like they pay an 8 year old to do the writing – Not this one. Your site is easily the best that I have seen in a long while.

Hi, I can’t understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please
The “Joke” about the testicular cup being invented in 1874 and the helmet being invented in 1974 has been circulating the internet, being espoused as the truth. However, even on your site, it is quoted, but there are no facts to prove it., no date, no game played, no name of manufacturer etc. Neither is their similar info supplied about the helmet. If it is a joke, it should be stated as such. If it is true then these facts should be given, especially since you are quoting it as a “Glimpse of History”. History always gives dates and other facts.
Please let me know where I can verify the info in this quote. Thanks
