The 4th. of July holiday is fast approaching when scores of vacationers hit the highways. Don’t wait till the last minute to get an oil change, check your anti-freeze, tire pressure and wear, wipers, and the cars overall running condition. You need to make sure your spare tire is in usable condition, and it is important to take a roadside emergency kit along with a first aid kit with you. The old saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” holds true while on the highways. Maps are a no-brainer, and bottled water isn’t a bad idea to stash away. If you have a cell phone it can be a life saver under some circumstances. Oh yes I almost forgot! Make sure you have a jack that works along with the “proper” tire wrench. Some vehicles come with special lug-nuts that need a special adapter to remove them. By all means make sure its in your glove box. Have a safe and enjoyable summer and a great 4th of July. America might not be perfect, but its still the only country in the world where thousands are trying to “GET IN” and not “GET OUT!”
