About 5 miles down Dunbar from me, one of the ladies I used to work with, I'll call her "T", got the state record bird. Driving south on 23 last Monday, I saw a handsome tom strutting a few feet from a hen. This was in a clearing about 10 yds on the other side of those brush/debris fences they have alongside the expressways. The full fantail was in effect and he was really trying show off for her.
