Phew! That Was Close.
Michigan’s government is back up after a 4 hour shut down resulting from the very inefficient nature of government itself. Like the antiquated steam engine that it is, it will likely take many weeks for the bureaucrats to get the government back to its unemployment-increasing, tax-money-wasting groove.
I wonder if we would have been required to pay state taxes while it was shutdown? I assume so.
They should have no trouble finding a use for the additional revenue they’ll be getting from the 0.45% income tax increase.
Did anyone actually think that the budget would be cut rather than a tax increase? I’m not sure that ever happens. It’s actually quite silly to even call it a budget. It’s more like a suggested minimum spending limit.
