Dissapointing Day for the Peace and Freedom Movement
If Ron Paul supporters weren’t already disappointed by his poor showing in the primaries, yesterday’s results were almost sure to push them over the edge. However, DeBosco, over at Daily Paul, reminds us to “be of good cheer.”
The grassroots support for the Freedom Message has been unbelievable. I have never in my life witnessed so many folks with such passion and energy and a willingness for fight for Liberty. When I told my wife what I saw happening on the Internet, I added, “Many of them will have their hearts broken.” When you know that the message is so right, you are stunned that the majority of our fellow citizens just don’t get it.
A couple other things to feel good about:

Disappointed, yes; stunned, no. So many people are so uninformed and so misinformed that it isn’t surprising.

no kidding. for instance, McCain has consistently received the largest percentage of the republican anti-war vote in the primaries. that’s right, the guy that never wants us to leave Iraq. It doesn’t make sense. The media may have failed in electing giuliani (though we may see a McCain/Giuliani ticket), but they have done a great job of suppressing information about Ron Paul.

Maybe we’re seeing the beginnings of a NEW party, even though our Founding Fathers didn’t like partisan politics.

that’s what the Libertarian party was aiming for, but it hasn’t gained nearly enough traction to be relevant. and then there is the Constitution party…both have basically endorsed Ron Paul to the extent that they’d not run a candidate if he secured the nomination. maybe this will give the Libertarian party the needed push. or maybe it will be ignored or forgotten by the ignorant masses and we’ll continue to let our country degrade until it’s too late. optimism isn’t a strength of mine as of late.
