I don’t doubt that the American Dream exists, I just don’t like it when the elite son of an elite son pretends that he is one of us when his backstory and voting record prove otherwise.

In response to DF, the “everyman” persona to which you refer, is only bogus in that a society that makes it IMPOSSIBLE for its citizens to attain lofty goals. The point is, in this country, the potential still exists. Of course, if Obama and his Socialist/Communist agenda were to be furthered, that would become impossible for the average citizen.

that’s true…these things are overblown on both sides, and largely irrelevant. people really feed into that stuff. it’s easier than confronting the important issues that really effect us.

I love how the media picks up on something and the people fall “lock-step” into the agenda. McCain stated he wasn’t sure of the number of home “HE” owned because he’s married to a very wealthy woman who owns several homes and he simply didn’t know who the homes were deeded to. Because of an agreement made prior to the marriage, McCain may not “personally” own some of the homes. Regardless, I think the dead horse is still dead.

It may not separate the two candidates, but it does poke a hole in McCain’s bogus “everyman” persona.
