We picked up Nick from the airport on Christmas morning. He stayed four days and headed back to Missouri. It was a nice visit. But, at the same time, he was eager to get back. Turns out he really likes being on his own. Being an 18-year-old with his own place and some freedom is pretty exciting for him. Still the holidays were better with him around. He made it to both family’s gatherings and one of his gifts was a videocamera. He said he needed it for when he gets deployed. Great.

    Nick,
My appologies, I was tring to follow this Blog while working as an Army contractor in Iraq, however, I got a little behind in checking to see what was going on with young Nick. I finally got caught up this week and I can see that you got your answer as to my thought’s on where he might end uplong before my reply. In his field Fort Leonard Wood was one of my guesses. I have been associated with Fort Leonard Wood for quite some time and I believe that any command young nick is assigned to out there is a great place to serve. I have been catching up on your post’s since my return from Iraq and was truly moved by your description of the little girl saluting in the airport. Those actions are very humbling to any one who serves or has ever served and reflect the outstanding support that our servicemember’s recieve from the great people of the Nation they serve. I myself left Erie, MI at the age of 17 and entered the military, your Blog interest’s me very much so keep posting and if I can be of any assistance here in the FLW area let me know. I thank young Nick for his service as well as you and your family for the support you have given him in seving. Best wishes to the Kisonas Family in the New Year.
