Jason, 2 years old, is my youngest. Its interesting to see the difference having older siblings makes to a child. He follows the others EVERYWHERE and so he seems really grown up for his age.
And he gets away with A LOT because he’s the littlest. For too long we’ve told the other kids “oh just give it to him he’s a baby.” He’s no longer a baby! But he cries and cries and cries to wear us down and get his way. And changing his ways is not easy. I try to wait him out but it sometimes takes hours for him to give up the whining and crying and accept that ‘no’ actually means no.
Jay is just now putting words together to make short sentences, and he loves to call people “monkey.”
Monkey Mama. Monkey DeeDee. Monkey Drew. Monkey Dada. Monkey Cass. (( Apparently, this is HILARIOUS.))
He’s always been very routine oriented. When he wakes up, we must go downstairs and get a sippy cup filled with orange juice and a granola bar. Then he can hold those and go back to sleep. Don’t give him a 3/4s of the way filled cup, don’t bother bringing a cup up the night before, and certainly don’t you DARE run out of granola bars. When he was younger, he needed to hold a penny. Don’t know why, I never made him pay his own way or anything. He just liked it.
My wish now is to have this boy potty trained! He (of course) has zero interest and thinks that saying “too-let, too-let, too-let” while I scrape his butt off is the cleverest thing ever. Ha ha ha Mister! Not funny at all!
