Monroe High Homecoming Carnival 9/30/08

September 30th, 2008 · 3 Comments

What a fun event, and a great way to promote Monroe High School to the community and families of future students.

The entire gym and commons were filled with elementary age students, MHS staff and MHS students.  Face painting, bounce houses, carnival games and lots of food.

The iPirates 1528 robotics team had two robots set up.  One shot a ball stuffed with candy and prizes across the gym for kids to catch (harder than it sounds!) and the other let kids work a big robot to pick up a giant ball and throw it at a guy from the robot team (Very interesting!).

One suggestion for next year…

As much as I love having the kids bring them home:

DO NOT GIVE AWAY GOLDFISH!

It was a lot of fun for the kids. And the guy that oversees the robotic team there at Monroe MHS said he was working with the principal of our school to bring a team here too. I was happy to hear that. :)

Maybe if you put the fish in the pool it will eat the algae during the winter!
