Its great time of year to take the kids on a twilight walk. The weather is just right in the fall and the sun is setting early enough that you can be out in the moonlight before bedtime on a school night.
Try it! Take just 15 minutes to walk outside after the sun has set. Either as a whole family or use it as one on one time with one of your children.
I like listening to what each child says for their “wish upon a star.” I think it would be interesting to see how a teenager might feel at ease and open up when talking in the dark.
We did say an “old fashioned” rhyme about missing someone…
I see the moon
and the moon sees me.
The moon sees the one
that I want to see.
And we did have some educational comments: “That’s half of a moon”, “That star next to the moon is so bright, it might be a planet.”
And some preschool logic: “Its bright because the sun is in the moon.”
Have a lovely evening everyone. : )
