… you know, “misplaced” something. Heaven forbid you say its l – o – s – t . Because that makes it true or something. The l-word means it’s gone and it ain’t coming back! So let’s just be optimists and say the item is “missing”.
Car keys? Commonplace. Eyeglasses? Typical. Purse? Understandable.
How about a big 30 gallon plastic tote of everyone’s hats, mittens, scarves, earmuffs, and gloves? Exactly HOW does that get “misplaced?”
And after looking in every closet, the inside and outside attic, under the stairwell, in the barn and in the camper (because who knows it’s theoretically POSSIBLE that we took them with us in August), that darn thing still can’t be found.
If anyone sees a tote on the loose, overflowing with winter outwerwear, capture that thing and call me ASAP! My ears are freezing!

Hmmm – You could offer a 2 liter bottle of root beer to the first child to locate the tote and you’d prob have it back in no time. But they’d pick up on that and your stuff would come up missing all the time.
It’s prob right where it’s supposed to be. How many times have you checked that spot? Sometimes we can’t see what is right there before us.

It’s probably had so many things piled on it and around it that it’s going to take a team of archaeologists years of work to extract it. I should know … and I finally did find my winter coat in the front closet last night! It was on the closet’s floor, with the portable safe from this summer’s hot dog stand on top of it.

I gave up and bought hats and gloves, and snow hats and gloves, and spare hat and gloves for everyone (if ever at any time, everyone brought both gloves and their hat home from school on the same day, it would be a miracle).
What a chunk of change! : (
