In the style of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? you can make a book using just Microsoft Word.
Using digital family pictures and either clip-art or google images its easy to make a personalized version of the book including the child’s favorite people, pets and toys.
Sample of two pages might look like:
- text at the top of page 1: Jason, Jason, what do you see?
- photo of Jason in the middle of page 1
- text at the bottom of page 1: I see Uncle Joel looking at me.
- text at top of page 2: Uncle Joel, Uncle Joel, what do you see?
- photo of Uncle Joel in the middle of page 3
- text at the bottom of page 2: I see a brown monkey looking at me.
- The last page of the book is a summary of all the text with smaller pictures.
If this doesn’t make sense, you can preview the book via this link to google books.
I made one for my son two years ago. Printed on cardstock, laminated, and put in a 3-ring binder, it has held up well.
- This would also be a good present an older sibling could make to give a younger sibling.
- This project could also be made multi-media by putting it into Powerpoint.
- This is a nice, inexpensive homemade gift that is easy to mail for cousins who don’t live close by.
