This would be a nice gift for a neighbor, sibling or cousin.
Items needed:
- two sticks
- hat (one that is no longer “cool” from your own closet, or get one from a thrift shop, or make a black top hat out of foamy paper – - whatever you choose will look good with extra ribbon or buttons glued on it)
- scarf (or a long, thin piece of fabric is a good substitute)
- 7-10 rocks painted black (we use leftover charcoal)
- three large buttons (or large pieces of circle shaped candy, suckers work well too and the stick is handy for keeping them in place)
You could provide a plastic/ foam carrot (Crafts 2000 carries them) but I expect most people have a carrot at home. We skip the corncob pipe/ cigar all together. Frosty is a non-smoker at our house!
Place items in a large ziplock bag, a plastc tote or painted coffee can (anything really). Long sticks can be tied with a ribbon on top of container.
You might be thinking, “Is this really a gift?” If you’ve ever dug through the snow searching blindly for buried sticks and rocks for your kids, then you’d agree this is a good gift idea! And they do sell “real” versions of these in stores.
