local swimmer wins big at Toledo meet- SMAC

Craig wins 11 events in Toledo swim meet

TOLEDO – Cameron Craig of the Southern Michigan Aquatic Club won all 11 events he entered to take high-point honors in the 10-under boys division of the 36th annual Greater Toledo Aquatic Club Turkey Meet during the weekend.

Craig set three meet records for his age group, including the 100 individual medley (1:08.49), 50 backstroke (:31.64) and 50 freestyle (:27.67).

SMAC also had four other swimmers take high-point honors, including Jon Volker in boys 11-12, Hanna Martin in girls 13-14, Kirstin Stark in open girls and Michael Allen in 13-14 boys.

Martin won seven events and broke a meet record. Allen took three firsts and five seconds and broke two meet records. Volker won six events and Stark ruled four.

Amanda Miller was fourth in open girls, Kevin Lingle fifth in boys 10-under, Amanda Miller fourth in open girls and Hailey Jarrait fifth in girls 13-14.

Also swimming well were Maureen Lingle, Zoe Geftos, Luke Geftos and Kelsey Stark.

SMAC finished fourth in the team standings.
