Remember your pregnancy and have a keepsake to show your child when they’re older.

Belly Cast
- plaster cast of the expectant mom’s belly
- kits are available from lots of sites like proudbody.com and originalbellyworks.com
- (I’m not sure what I would do with the end product. It’s sort of big. Sort of? OK it’s way big!)
Belly Pillow
- recycle your favorite materity shirt into a pillow
- sew the openings shut and stuff poly-fill
- (A good idea, but I’m passing on my maternity clothes to another expectant mom.)
Belly Painting
- there are kits available from lots of places, including littledarlingsinc.com and toysrus.com
- regular face paint works just as well
- it’s fun for older siblings too
- (Snap a photo that can be put in the baby’s book.)
Belly Photos
- monthly photos are a great idea and make a really neat timeline
- if you didn’t do the monthly photograph, look online for inspiration for composing your photo like pregnancy.about.com and distinctivememories.com
- There’s no way to recreate the way you look when pregnant. We are our own harshest critics, so don’t judge the pictures until a few months after the baby has arrived.
I’m not talking about the last idea I saw, but it’s out there so feel free to google “placenta prints.” That’s just really not for me!
