Rainbow

April 29th, 2009 · No Comments

My favorite song to sing to my babies has always been Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  I’m not a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz or Judy Garland, and definitely don’t have the vocal skills to sing it properly (thankfully the kids don’t know that).  But I think the words are sweet and hopeful.

And we caught this spring rainbow last week:

rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There’s a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can’t I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can’t I?
